SIMP 2025

16th to 25th June 2025

About SIMP 2025

SIMP is back again with its Annual Mooting Event for 2025. This year, we are honoured to receive the support of multiple sponsors.

Participants will subsequently form teams of 2, representing either their schools or themselves to duke it out in a series of rounds, culminating in the finals which will be open to spectators.

For the first time, our Conference will not only be a competition, but will be centred around Community. We invite all interested participants to join us for not only our competition, but our Engagement Sessions, Finals Ceremony and Networking Dinner.

More details can be found in documents to be released.

Pre-Competition

Registration for the programme will be open between April to May. Interested participants who are unable to find a partner will be paired with another independent participant. Prior to the competition, we will be organising a series of in-person and virtual training sessions. All participants are strongly encouraged to attend the provided sessions.

Each team must submit a total of 4 skeletal submissions, each covering a ground of appeal (the problem question has two grounds of appeal) for the Appellant and Respondent respectively. Their skeletal submissions may only rely on the authorities and cases cited in the closed list.

All registered participants will receive a package consisting of:

  1. Closed list of selected authorities and cases (along with a ZIP package of the cases);

  2. Guidelines and rules on skeletal submissions; and
